Benefit Concert for Wounded Veterans

Temple B’Nai Israel of Laconia has joined with Camp Resilience in Gilford to put this event on. LTC (R) Kurt Webber, Camp Resilience’s founder, has developed a series of programs/sessions that  focus on helping Vets transition.

I would most appreciate your help in circulating this flyer and encouraging attendance, and Vets awareness of Camp Resilience.

Thanks and my best,

LEGION MEETING 9MAY WITH GUEST SPEAKERS 1900

This coming Tuesday I have invited Active Duty Army Veterans Nathan Fry and Ed Wright who are also Rangers for the White Mountain National Forest Service to speak on the Veterans Conservation Corps. Their veteran status was highly inspirational in organizing the Veterans Conservation Corps.  Nathan is with 2nd Infantry Div and 1st Armor Div and Ed with 1st Special Forces Group.  I previously mentioned in past newsletters that the Forest Service is conducting a 120 day training program for veterans who may have an interest in public lands administration and possibly matched with job opportunities after completion.  Not only is this an opportunity for veterans it is also an opportunity for the community to support this program with help in furnishing the Forest Service Cabins located in Bartlett.  The Forest Service has been renovating these cabins for those participating in the training program to stay.  However there still is a need to furnish the cabins.
Come listen to what the program is all about and what we as a Post and community can do as a show our support.
Also on the meeting agenda is coordinating efforts to Place Memorial Day Flags.  John Edgerton has informed me that the Boy Scouts are available to help.
